To provide community hosts that will offer host and mentoring services to international students requesting service
To provide orientation and assistance for community hosts
Each international student enrolled in the metro area that completes an application requesting a community host is provided one. All forms distributed by this Committee are listed on the web site and in the Operating Guidelines • EPI Committee
To assist students enrolled in USC’s English Program for Internationals (EPI)
Invite community host applications from EPI students, and then pass to Community Host Committee for assignment
Provide opportunities to practice conversational English, either through classes or informal meetings
• Furnishings Committee
To collect new and/or used household furnishings and make these items available to international students in the metro area
• Hospitality Committee
To plan and accept responsibility for all social events of CCFI
- Annual General Business meeting, assisting President
- Statewide Spring Reception at the Governor’s Mansion
- Fall Welcome Dinner (covered dish), honoring the new students
• International Hour Committee
To provide an opportunity during the Fall and Spring semesters for international students to interact with each other, with selected American students, and with community leaders through an informal weekly fellowship
Schedule a weekly luncheon day in accord with the calendar of the university
• Palmetto Council for International
Visitors (PCIV) (the NCIV Committee)
To provide hospitality and professional programs for international visitors who are channeled through the agencies that work with the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV) of the US State Department
